is a game of skill an uncertainty, yet it is also one of great rewards -
which is what many great players could probably tell you, including David
Benyamine, one of the most well known poker challengers out there today.
It was probably only a stroke of fate that landed David Benyamine in what
was to become a life changing career in the sport of Poker.
Benyamine was born on the day of July 5, 1972 in Paris and started out
in his poker playing after hurting his back when he was a tennis player.
After he began playing on the small limit tables, he soon moved forward
to higher and more intense limits as he became a better player and ranked
up higher in his poker playing skill. His skills must have come naturally,
as he is said to not have read any poker books to get where he is. Taking
whatever he could and looking for even more opportunities to make a better
life and get his game up to par - he looked for more ways to
reach his goals.
After moving up to more difficult levels in poker, he proved to be a worthy
opponent not only in France, but across all of the region and as he became
even more known, he took on new tournaments, competitions and challenges
that would soon prove to be very fruitful as a result of his efforts.
David is known for his friendly exterior attitude and desire for a peaceful and amiable table, yet his serious and take no prisoner presence, skill and way of playing the game. Having humility on top of his tough game has solidified that his techniques are a force that has yet to be handled. Once things had started to pick up, he decided that he wanted to be a part of and win the WSOP one day, which would be just the thing to catapult his poker status to new heights and take his career to different places around the world. David has been seen in tournaments on television and have competed with many big names in poker, the best of the best. Despite some of the many challenges that would get in the way, Benyamine would be sure to stop at nothing to try and reach the top.
In 2003, Benyamine came in first place in the Grand Prix of Paris where he banked a whopping 357,800 in Euros, thus fueling his need to get his career going and moving up the ranks. During the year of 2005, David won the WPT Battle of Champions II and has since then led an incessant and impressive run as time continues to pass. In 2008, he won more than $500,000 in an Omaha hi-lo tournament, yet again creating another mark in poker history, as well as his life. With the success that he has accomplished, it's easy to see how he has touched and inspired the lives of many people the world over.
David is currently living in Nevada, has one child and is married to another professional player, Erica Schoenberg. So far David Benyamine has won over three million dollars from poker alone.
